Y'all know I must voice my displeasure not doing the entire race card at any track we play
Yes I realize some folks live in different time zones, BUT we always get the track days in advance which means everyone has their work done in plenty of time for the first post

Also what's wrong with race 14? Are we to presume it's past folks bedtimes?

               Playing a shorter card isn't always about the times zones

Sometimes it's about the length of the card   
14 Races takes a lot of time for people to handicap
when they have plans for the weekend with family and friends
      and not a lot of handicapping time for 14 races

      It's also a little consideration for Ye Ole Scorekeeper!
                                 

Scoring  13 or 14 players on a Saturday is a lot on a short card 
              But even more so with a 14 race card 
         Plus the Writing of the race call the following day

             On Wednesday's Midweek Mayham with LESS players
We almost always play the full card no matter how long it is 

                In the final decision for Saturday's card
      The majority of those who voted opted for race 5 to 13
Including the defending champion who usually has the final decision in A Choice

                               As the ole saying goes

"You can't please all the peeps all the time"
But for those who have been with us over the years ...
I think they will agree that we try our best to do just that

Agreed. Ive already decided to play this friendly contest, but I'll be boycotting tomorrow otherwise .  It's just way too hot. I feel.really bad for the horse that have to race in this.

Right now, Monmouth appears to be the only major Eastern track running on Saturday afternoon. Saratoga, Laurel, Parx, Delaware Park, Belterra and Finger Lakes have all cancelled.

While track management has implemented a number of safety protocols and would be very reluctant to lose their biggest day of the year, you need to pay attention to the possibility of a cancellation.

Proximity to the ocean may help them escape the worst heat.

Do the other tracks in the East have a greater concern for the horses and race fans or does Monmouth justify it
for the money. If there was a real concern the trainers wouldn't run their valuable animals.
