Maybe they picked silver because it's sort of chrome colored? 
IIRC, DAP is well and truly dissolved, but the two probably are still entangled with shared ownership of a few horses, like 'Chrome's little sister. So, a new name for a new version of a partnership?

My guess is like what BA1 is thinking:  chrome for macho guys and silver for the ladies, from a distance they'd look pretty much alike.

I think Coburn lives in Nevada, or did live there recently, hence the name.
