Trainer Bill Mott told the Daily Racing Form the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) winner has developed a cough and is "acting like he's going to get sick." The son of Lookin At Lucky is out of the Preakness Stakes (G1), Mott said.

If he is indeed getting sick, you'll probably see him in NY but more likely Saratoga.

I read that they were waiting for the test results, before giving him antibiotics
The situation is fluid with him

I get that but, I would think he is still missing some training and I just don't see Mott tossing him into the Belmont not 100%. Personally, I'd retire him now, you only get so much luck with a horse.

Retire him?  Surely, you're not serious, right?
I think he is one of the top five of this years 3yr olds

BTW  Country House is up there too!

I was referring to Country House. They've got a classic win, why risk exposing him? Lay your hand down and take the pot. Timing is everything and he had good timing which lead him to be in the right place at the right time on Saturday.

Maximum Security is a time bomb in my opinion. Training him with those two-minute licks isn't style it's necessity. When he goes wrong hopefully it will be in the morning and it will be minor and not life threatening. If they can gather enough bubble gum and duct tape to get Maximum Security through the Haskell, Omaha Beach will need to win the BCC, most likely, to take the Eclipse.

Country House will theoretically be back next year. Mott usually likes them for a while.
