Jockey Luis Saez Suspended 15 Days for Derby Infraction

The Kentucky stewards on May 12 suspended jockey Luis Saez 15 days for failure to control his mount and make the proper effort to maintain a straight course in his ride aboard Maximum Security in the Kentucky Derby (G1) May 4 at Churchill Downs.

Fighting fire with gasoline, I see. I think this has more to do with Saez and the West's public defense. Evidently, the CD stewards don't like to be questioned using the public as a jury. This is when Stronach should step up and take half of the Pegasus money and card a new Derby at either Santa Anita or Gulfstream. Perhaps if CD had to scramble to get #'s 7 or 8 on the point list to be the favorite, they would see how flawed their race has become.
