Good afternoon, and welcome to Midweek Madness and BOTS day at warm and balmy Gulfstream Park West on this National Butterfly and Hummingbird Day.  Seven fillies and colts are in the gate and are facing Cigarshop in the Fly High Or Cry Stakes, hoping to deny the talented colt a repeat victory.

And, they are off!!!   

DUSTY, CIGARSHOP, and CATALINA broke alertly, with CIGARSHOP moving into the early lead.  A sudden burst of speed moves RUFFIAN into the leading group, but CATALINA easily goes past her, past CIGARSHOP and past DUSTY.  There is a big gap between the front runners and BLUNNY and THUNDER CAT, and after another big gap, CRUZAN and TIGER DANCER.  And so it remains into the stretch. DUSTY manages to catch up with CIGARSHOP, but neither of them is able to overtake fleet CATALINA who is clearly the fastest this day. DUSTY and CIGARSHOP tie for place,
and a spent RUFFIAN crosses the finish line in 3rd place.
