If this is what the Catholic Church is doing with my money now, I think I am going to increase my giving.

I had heard the new Pope was a lot more liberal!  :lmao:

Sorry I have not been posting as much but I am working on the racing silks database on the other side of TBR fans. I'm on the letter J now. This, of course, is not a complete list through J - somehow I doubt this project will EVER be complete!  :lmao:

Who bought him is a secret, it seems. Pointing towards the Dubai World Cup with ultimate goal of standing him at stud.

This is great news! And yes I dread this time of year - everyone retires and everyone gets shipped overseas. Glad Ebby will still be with us!

Let's see - who's left of the Derby bunch for next year - usually it's pretty slim pickings.

Orb - retired
Golden Soul
Revolutionary
Normandy Invasion
Mylute
Oxbow - retired
Lines of Battle
Will Take Charge
Charming Kitten
Giant Finish
Overanalyze - retired
Palace Malice
Java's War
Verrazano - retired
Itsmyluckyday
Frac Daddy
Goldencents
Vyjack
Falling Sky
Tiz The Truth

Actually compared to a regular year we're not doing too badly. Some years seems like half or more of the field retires!

A question for all the breeders out there: I'm always surprised at how lightly raced some of these guys are when retired to stud. Except of course for the career ending injuries. Take Orb for example - would you breed to a horse with such a short racing resume? Is the bloodline much more important than the resume? That has always puzzled me.

I was unhappy to read that Declaration of War is headed straight to the shed when he gets back to Ireland. That's disappointing, because it seemed like the War Front colt is getting even better. He could be a very good horse to take to the Dubai World Cup, since he has shown he can run well on damn near anything.

I was VERY impressed by his run in the Classic.
