I don't recall, so can't help, but our admin Curlin seems to have disappeared...  ?

The site used to have dual admins: Zenyatta and jjacks1. Is jjacks1 still here, too?

Twas a foregone conclusion to those who weren't trying to deny what was before them ...

When people try SOOOOOO hard to dredge up any conceivable angle or question they can create about a particular horse ... you know that is the one ...

Focus should have been on loading up BEHIND him in trifectas or superfectas ...

I singled him on my trifecta and loaded up 6 horses behind him in 2nd and 3rd for a trifecta ... Unfortunately though ... I didn't have Commanding Curve ...

This was the only race that concerned me at all(as long as he stays healthy) for Cali Chrome ... solely because traffic issues were a concern because of the huge field. Once the race started though, Victor placed him perfectly ... So I knew he had it from about 3 furlongs in.

Preakness should be a breeze ... as will the Belmont ... CC doesn't have distance limitations(although some try to convince themselves he does) ... He's been geared down hard his last 5 races ... Distance will be no issue.

As long as he stays healthy, I believe the hard part is done and the Triple Crown will be his.

Only horse that I view as a threat at all is Social Inclusion ... If he dispatches him, he's home free.

On that note, today SI was loaded on a van headed to Pimlico.

Social Inclusion will van to Pimlico;
No Preakness decision yet for Ring Weekend

Social Inclusion brings plenty of speed to the Preakness
(Lauren King/Adam Coglianese Photography)

Social Inclusion has recovered sufficiently from the bruise in his right front foot that had kept him out of a Gulfstream Park stakes last Saturday to board a Pimlico-bound van Wednesday morning.

"We're leaving tomorrow morning around 10 (EDT) and get there early Thursday morning," Rontos Racing Stable Corp.'s Ron Sanchez said. "He'll jog tomorrow before he leaves."

After making a belated career debut on February 22, Social Inclusion won his first two races by a combined 17 1/2 lengths at Gulfstream Park before finishing third in the TwinSpires.com Wood Memorial at Aqueduct on April 5. The Manny Azpurua-trained colt lacked the necessary point total to make the Kentucky Derby field.

From the first crop of Pioneerof the Nile, Social Inclusion will enter the middle leg of the Triple Crown off a 42-day freshening . . .

After seeing the video, my first thought was, poor Nehro. He must have been in excruciating pain, and still had to train and race. Hard to imagine.

My thoughts exactly on every point Peep!

As long as they let him free on the lead and didn't look him in the eye, he had a great shot. Once Hear The Ghost backed off, I knew The Dude had it
IMO, if someone would have run toe to toe with him into the final turn, he would have spit the bit and been off the board.

But they didn't ... so hence the result ... and I'm happy!  The crowd was too! Huge applause for him coming through the stretch and again when Mike brought him by the stands for the crowd.Seems most people understood the import for both The Dude and history.

It was nice to see Baffert get emotional about Dude's win, too. He's so calm and cool, usually.

I was rooting for Game On Dude, though I couldn't say I was confident about his chances.  When MMM and WTC came after him I was watching it on the computer yelling, "Go, go buddy, you can do it! :D

Retired grade I-winning millionaire gelding The Usual Q. T. was euthanized the first week of February due to complications from an illness, trainer Jim Cassidy confirmed Feb. 27. The son of Unusual Heat—Lunge, by Western Fame, was 8.

According to Cassidy, The Usual Q. T. had suffered from a condition called peritonitis, which is an inflammation in the stomach lining.

"He got colic about a year ago and we got him through that and he was fine," Cassidy said. "Then, about three or four months ago, he got peritonitis. They worked on him for days at the hospital, then we brought him to the racetrack and worked on him there. He seemed to be fine for a couple weeks, but then he got really bad."

Cassidy said The Usual Q. T. underwent several treatments at West Coast Equine Hospital in Somis, Calif., but eventually the decision was made to euthanize him when his condition worsened ...

If he got banged up that badly, I am surprised they are planning to coax him onto another airplane for the return trip.

Well, apparently they tried ... unsuccessfully. Someone posted on TBC that O'Neill Racing wrote on its Facebook page BH had been put on a plane to go back to SoCal ... and then this post showed up later on the same page.

Geez, only eight years old. :(  Was it colic? Or some long-standing illness?

Yes! I posted it in the Politics section, too. As serenasong added, the next thing to do is get the SAFE Act passed and close the door on horse slaughter here.

It definitely filled in BIG time as the day went on. If it was 13,000 at 2PM ... I'm betting it was pushing 20K then,

And yeah ... I'll post more in the next day or two. Wiped out for tonight.

Here's my boy Woodman's Luck's photo finish win for the last race in HP history. What a way to go out!

http://betfairhollywoodpark.com/images/4361.jpg

Is this the same Woodmans Luck who gained fame (or became infamous) in this photo when he tried to bite another horse last year at Del Mar?

A frustrated Woodmans Luck tries to take a bite out of Romeo Royale during the sixth race on Saturday at Del Mar. Romeo Royale went on the win the race and came out of it unscathed.

Good for him that he figured out it's better to keep his head straight near the wire. :D

Mariasmon from TBC posted this new conformation photo of Giant Oak over on that board. I thought it would interest a few here, too. :)

Has he bled before? Just wondered if they had tried him without lasix to find out before deciding to enter the Japan Cup.

Not sure, but it could have been caused by the blow in the gate, perhaps?
That could be. I knew the caller said he reared in the gate, but didn't realize he'd hit his head.

For anyone who uses XpressBet, if you choose "Japan Racing" in the track list it's showing the races from Hanshin Racecourse tonight.

The Japan Cup Dirt is Race 11 at 1:40 a.m. Eastern Standard Time here.

Quote from: Dave in TJ Mex on November 29, 2013, 04:09:28 PMWTC is easily three year old champ.

Orb freaked on an off track, then ran so-so in his subsequent races.

A Ky Derby win is nice, but lots of so-so horses have won a Derby, then never won anything of significance afterwards.

WTC is likely a head short (in the BCC) of being HOY.

Will Game On Dude be HOY after being 0 for 2 against WTC?  I think today's result should give HOY to Wise Dan.

Yeah, I think Game On Dude had to win to be HOTY.
What will be interesting is if Goldencents wins the Cigar Mile. Given he also won a BC race, would they give the 3-year-old Eclipse to him or Will Take Charge?

Did you say it's a video? I'm only seeing the .jpg. They're cute! We just have gray squirrels where I live.

If you know my Facebook, I have it posted there.

If not, I can PM the info to you. Its a MUST see. I'm bummed I can get it on here.  :(

Well, I found your facebook page, but I don't see the video. Do I need to be a "friend" to see it? ;)
