Am I the only one who thinks that it's a little disrespectful to name a horse after somone really revered?  Galileo is okay, but Churchill makes me squirm a bit.  And George Washington. . .now, no one minds if you name an English bulldog Winston; but the horse Churchill bothers me.  And naming a horse John F. Kennedy. . .nope for me. 

I will NEVER go to opening day again, but a "girlfriend" and I (we're both far past girlhood!) make the PC trip each year.  She's a big fan of CC.

I just hope both CC and Dortzilla run well and set up a really classic PC with Beholder.  Any other entries, gravy.

Didn't take a lot of money first time out (for a Baffert) and didn't do much running, but much more focused today and finished like a good thing after being cut from 4-1 to 2-1.  Best Pal next I would expect.

How does it happen (I'm not a hands-on horse person) that you don't know your horse's lungs are clogged up before a race?  Was really hoping to see a good performance.   

Baffert might actually have some competition this year and Monmouth probably won't even offer him an appearance fee.

He just hasn't shown much at all--I follow most of the Baffert horses so I've watched his races.  But to be fair, I think it was O'Neill that claimed Informed when Baffert dumped that one, and I think he wound up a GSW and is now at stud.

I don't want to be a wet blanket, but this horse looks like his name should be Major Disappointment.  But spot him right and good luck.but

Yes, there's a lake. I'm hoping they go after rats rather than cats but it's kind of nice to see them again.

The Quarters at Los Al just showed a pair of adorable coyote pups playing in the infield.  The coyotes used to be a staple of the show but I haven't seen them in quite a while.

Well, I think Bejarano deserves a spot in the Derby pipeline!
