First, a laugh.
l have also owned a roan. He wasn't very little. He was a strawberry roan. He had 4 white legs, up to the knees and past the hocks. He had a bald face. He had a blue eye. Like I said, not very little...17.2. He was a retired show Tennessee Walking horse. His mane and tail were blonde. Put a black parade saddle and bridle on him and Drs and lawyers would reserve him a year in advance of Tampa's answer to Mardi Gras, Gasparilla, $250 in1969. He was the only horse I've ever seen able to walk next to a fake rolling pirate ship with a load of drunks throwing strings of beads at girls and kids down Bayshore Blvd while shooting off blanks from 2 fake cannons without jumping into Tampa Bay. That was Sailor. He was PINK.
The TV news had him on in the background of the evening news a few times, usually with people trying to get his inebriated rider back on without injuring him.
