All good with Arrogate this morning, reports Baffert. Pegasus could be next but Juddmonte would need to lease a spot.

Stupid (imho) conversations around the web with regards to Santa Anita attendance and handle on the Breeders Cup.

Comparisons to years of history about per-capita betting is really stupid (imho)

All the rules have changed over the years.  Do the statisticians get info from the off-shore books that don't co-mingle their monies from the heavy hitters in the game and balk at take-out percentages, I think not.

I'd bet that the CHROMIES, maybe in the thousands, bet very little, but they're fans and that's okay.
And to offset them, how much money was churned in the BCBC contest room where everybody had a $10K bankroll to play with.

BC collects a big portion of the gate, no reason at all for SA to artificially inflate their numbers.

Stats mean nothing anymore, just accept it as published and turn the page, nuff said.

Arrogate is a better horse than CA Chrome. We saw that yesterday. However, CA Chrome should be Horse of the Year. It's a YEAR, not a day.

Dortmund also to remain in training next year. Will have lengthy freshening after disappointing BC Dirt Mile. Baffert: "He got light on me"

He is NOT a better horse than Chrome - he was on Saturday but time will tell - AND YES Chrome should be Horse of the YEAR!

Owner Robert Masterson said he's "seriously thinking" about sending Tepin to Hong Kong for the mile race in December. She also runs in 2017.

Chrome is a future Hall of Famer, I have zero problem with him being named Horse of the Year for 2016 and he deserves as much respect as anyone who watches the sport can muster.  When I read things like this, however, I envision the Poster in front of their keyboard with their hands over their ears shaking their head vigorously crying out lalalalalalalalalalala!  Your entitled, but your definition of better may be different than mine.  Chrome ran his race and Arrogate was better.  This wasn't Arcanques or Valponi we're talking about, we're talking about a horse who ran almost the same exact superior race twice in a row and who, if he stays together, can be the most special horse we've seen in many, many a year.  Right now he's Candy Ride--who I'd take over Chrome every day of the week and twice on Sunday--let's hope we see that big, long stride and that high cruising speed many times next year.
