Pimm's Cup, an unstarted NY-bred 2-year-old by Old Fashioned, was the horse that got hung up on rail. Was scheduled to breeze.

Horse that was hung up on rail has been extricated and appears to be OK. Has been walked onto equine ambulance and will be vanned to barn.

I've been to Saratoga, great track!  I'll take Del Mar. There is something about hearing a tipsy Der Bingle slur through that song on the way out that makes maybe not breaking quite even seem so bad.😉

Agreed, even the exits are memorable whether you have to walk across a dirt lot to get to your car of if you stand waiting at the valet while they bring all the really fancy cars up ahead of yours, great entertainment from beginning to end, and it doesn't end there as Red Tractons, The Brig and others are ready and waiting for you!  Saratoga may have to wait another year ;)

Racing / Saratoga or Del Mar?

Where would you rather be this summer?

Me.....well I guess it has to be Saratoga since I've been to DelMar approximately 177 times not counting the sunrise donut sessions and I've never been to Saratoga not even once.  Very high on my bucket list.

.

He just doesn't have his dam's turn of foot. Oh well.

Not making any excuses but it is extremely difficult be the deep closer in a race when there are so few entrants, needs a full field that sets up legitimate pace throughout, will probably get the ideal set-up in Del Mar.

Ohh, and that $560,000 Juddmonte runner that won just might be something very special someday.  Arrogate got a 96 Beyer for that effort and still has some learnin to do.  Same can be said for the runner-up, Giant Expectations, worth putting in your stable mail for future reference.

Race 9 @ Santa Anita, the last of the 6.5 downhill turf races before they rip up the sod to replace it for BC.

Recent Hollendorfer claim #7 PrayHard is listed at 6/1 on the morning line which is acceptable for his first ever try on the tricky course.  The problem is I have sneakin' hunch he might open up at about 9/5 on the first click on the board in which case he's a pass for me and will wait for another day rather than guessing he can transfer dirt form to the grass at a short price.

ARCADIA, Calif. – Jockey Kent Desormeaux, who is scheduled to ride Preakness Stakes winner Exaggerator in the Belmont Stakes in New York on June 11, is currently undergoing an alcohol rehabilitation program in Utah, according to a statement released by Santa Anita publicity.

Desormeaux, 46, made the announcement Saturday through his agent, J.R. Pegram.

"It was time to take a sober look at my life and take this step," Desormeaux said in the statement.
