CNak went down in Saturday's nitecap, cost his horse his life, thanks to careless riding by apprentice AEspinoza by all indications, we'll see what the stewards have to say.

POSITIVE NEWS! We just met with the spinal specialist & he will be released from the hospital shortly. He thankfully escaped without any major injuries, however his timetable to return to riding is uncertain. Don't worry, we will come back stronger than ever!

RIP
Curtis will remember this guy.
No mention of how tall he was, but I always thought him to be about 6'

I'll take the overs on whatever return date they announce,
if ever.

The notion that he could be a healthy, happy, wealthy retired Mexican has to be pretty appealing to him.

I rooted for Alydar during that TC series. Looking back though, Affirmed really earned that TC. I don't know if I've ever seen a tougher horse.

No need to look it up in a dictionary, it was the very definition of HEART in a horse, doesn't show up in pedigree reports or workout times but it's there when you need it, very few have/had one as big as Affirmed.

Update—Lava Man underwent colic surgery to correct a large colon displacement. He stood beautifully and is back in his stall to begin the recovery process.  We want to thank the veterinarians and staff for their quick assessment and treatment.  Thanks to all for the good wishes.

Unique Bella  beat her by a half

Or i should say that her jock got her beat!

I've got to go get my tinfoil hat   LOL

No need for the aluminum headgear, decent enough of a wager.

BUT......imho, this is the kind of race that just rips the heart of a horse, she could look over and see the competition running on just 3 shoes and a statue on her back, all the while LaForce was trying as hard as she could, whippin and jostling to no avail.

We won't know until next time, but I fear a big bounce is in the making for the 3, beware.
