Have not been able to get access.
Thanks.
Kurenai told quiet Chris to watch his mouth the other day. Strange, this happened so soon afterwards.
must be down. Haven't been able to access it for 3 or so days.

Well you know QC would never do anything to hurt the site, since he would lose his mouthpiece. :-)
Apparently it wasn't hacked, which is why I deleted my other reply. Some other problem... who knows.
OK.
I would hope some of their folks there would come here to post. :-)

Problem with the website - Victoria is working on it - hopefully up soon - anyone who wants to sign up here! Let me know your user name and I will approve ASAP = PLEASE let me know - trust me the spammers are hitting us too and I am trying to keep them at bay
Many thanks Dusty!!
Just a note - ANYONE who knows of someone who wants to register here - LET ME know so I can expedite approval -
THANKS
Well, I wandered back over here. I was updating all my GR, Harley and Schramies, and it's still not up. Should be updating within the next 24 hours or so. Think I'm going to go back to posting on both sites like I used to(when time allows). Seems like a lot of spammers hit TBC, don't understand why.
Settling in here as well :)
I don't have as much time to post as I did in years past but I really like the ability to have a casual chat and see what fellow fans are thinking.
It's great to get folks from the other site. Kennedy, I recall you from TBC.

Good form
K-Man!! This is my official initial post on this Forum. 8) Sad that
TBC is suffering through another
hack attack!! I wasn't posting nearly as much as years past, but it was like that old friend you check in on from time to time.
Hopefully there will be others who cross over to this forum and even cooler would be some of the TBC "Blasts from the Past" to join in.
Riff Raff - where are you??? ::)
*rolls over, bored*
FYI - they are working on getting it up - an admin glitch - not hackers= but wow do we have spammers trying to get in here too
I AM reviewing member request OFTEN - PLEASE apply you GUESTS and if I can verify you are real - I will get you on!

Kennedy, I always enjoyed reading your insights, even when I didn't agree. It's a pleasure seeing you here.i would like to get a handicapper/blogger with good writing skills to help do something with the home page. If you or anyone else here is game please PM me.
Wow- TBC is still down- does anyone remember what the longest time is to be down? Im glad that this board was started

Thanks and this board will be upgraded tonight with some extra security to filter out more spammers. It's difficult windowing the real registrations from the fakes right now.
Hi everyone. I wonder if TBC is ever coming back up. But I'm happy to finally join this forum. Went by Ridan_Remembered on the other site.
Welcome and glad to read you. This is the kinder and gentler horse racing forum. ;D

ditto!
I joined TBC in 1997/98. Got locked out sometime during the crash of 2013. Got back in in early 2014 for a few months...then gone until now. Could never register. Used 4 different emails I had just got i e when the new admin took over...then bang...TBC gone again. So glad have this forum.
I must say...I am disappointed in victoria. I can understand losing interest and not having the impetus to mansge the site...but to let it just decay for over a year(s) Why not raise the issuse of TBC continuing 2 years ago when the site was functioning oK :headshake: Clearly Victoria had no concern for TBC posters...gone. Ignored. No notice. Poof!
Victoria has done a wonderful job with TBC and Kurenai taking over has done the best possible.
Managing a free site is not easy to do.
I'll ditto that, 'Taz.
Is there still hope that TBC will be back?
Sorry, but who really cares about TBC anymore?
It's time to look forward not backward!
The format is right here @ TRC for all to enjoy, we just need some more participation!

Are there those that still miss Lil Andy....here's today's contribution...Andy Serling @andyserling 5h5 hours ago
If someone set an Over/Under on when we see our next Triple Crown winner at 8 1/2 years, I would gladly make a substantial UNDER bet.
Or maybe it's Som's laments with life in general and how miserable she is at a job she hates yet finds the time read books and play on the internet on her bosses dime?
Or is it Dustino's twisted logic that you miss?
C'mon folks, why not make this place number one for your horsey pleasures whatever they may be!
p.s. what other horse forums do you visit and contribute to? just curious.
Call me crazy, but I miss all of them. ;)
I appreciate all the posters who provide info on foreign racing, and updates on American horses who have gone overseas. I love Tachyon's contributions, and I wonder what she/he thought about Lani's nice third in the Belmont.
If TBC stays down, I hope all the TBC members can make their way here.
Re: Other forums...I belong to several, but have been mainly posting here:

If TBC hasn't come back up by now, it seems doubtful it ever will. Just a relatively brief time ago, the owner/admin wanted to sell the site or at least turn it over to someone else to manage. So whatever happened to cause it to go down now, what's the likelihood that the owner/admin will want to bother bringing it back up? Unfortunate, though. :(
I only miss 1 person and that's Seattle Jew. :)
I MISS Tachyon.... LOTS!

Oddly enough the Baze thread just reminded me of him... last I spoke with him he was in Boston, or somewhere in MA and hated it, but that was like 8 years ago. Maybe he got married and moved on in life.

Funny you should say that because he was getting hitched this month I believe.
The Baze thread made me think of him too.
Migrated over here from TBC - the poster formerly known as Della! Glad to see a lot of familiar....faces.
I miss The Tin Man, among others.

she handed it over to kurenai, but not completely. kurenai said there was still some info she wasn't given, some pretty vital stuff that would have brought the site back up from what i could tell.
I'm here, I hope everyone works their way over here... I like getting a feel for the whole range of opinions on racing, it's helped me see racing from a broader perspective!

Was just talking to her via the TBC FB page. Told her the error code, and she is indeed missing info to get it back up apparently .
Appears to be back up and running as of 4:00 pm today.

Yes, but Im still posting over here more than in the past. Will do more normal results and silly stuff between the two- but this is a kinder, gentler site for sure.
I plan to continue posting here and visiting TBC mostly for news and info.
I'll post in both places like to I did after the last time TBC went down... the pick of the day thread is the bomb, yo. 8)
Checked TBC every day. Happened to be up and running now....and I saw the link here and totally forgot I was a member.
Good to be back and see all the familiar names!
I just want to say thank you for this site. I don't plan to leave even with TBC back up. I never did find TBC a particularly friendly site, but went there daily only for news and info. :thanks: :oie_30232359NUVsTmH4:
It's a perfect world. I can go there for bad moods, here for good moods. :thanks:

You can come here if the other place causes a bad mood ;) - or at any time, for that matter.
Looks a bit different! Happy to be back. :)
Whoa I hit "reply" and all these smiley options popped up above the text box... spoiled for choice! :puppykisses:
I just wanted to say :thanks: for letting me join here and to sweettalk for linking it over at TBC when it came back up. I was going through serious withdrawal without somewhere to read about TBs!
:::settles in to lurk here too:::
I really really appreciate those who've come here, but we need more members to start topics and to post. We need involvement. 1 post in the racing forum today other than this one. Very discouraging. :(
And I've truly appreciated those who've kept the board goung in my absence.
Sigh.
I actually prefer this forum to TBC. Unfortunately, I don't have much free time to post. Long work days and family obligations when I get home from work don't leave much spare time. But I do appreciate this site.
"...I never did find TBC a particularly friendly site..."
Really? I know that there are posters there who can be acerbic, even sarcastic but, IMHO, the tenor of the TBC forum never sinks to what I've experienced on a couple of (not-to-be-named) other forums.
If you think TBC is 'unfriendly,' you haven't had to deal with real trolls. ;)

Everyone has their own perspective. From mine, there are people who dominate TBC and are downright nasty for no reason whatsoever. They seem to go out of their way to mock and belittle people who don't quite turn a phrase the way they, from their oh-so-superior attitudes, demand a phrase be turned. I have found that forum to be cliquish, unfriendly, unwelcoming to new people and disappointing...and that's putting it mildly.

I disagree to a point, but I do get what you are saying. For me most of my "unpleasant experiences" at TBC have stemmed from people misinterpreting what I write and then that person responds in a knee-jerk fashion based on their erroneous interpretation. It happens in reality off message boards too, so really should be no big deal. I also blame myself partly for that because I may not be consistently clear when posting.
Other than that I agree with Dusty and Baroque: the "bad" on that site is not really all that bad, mainly it can just be challenging to get a point across sometimes. The film board I post on is much worse on a far more consistent basis. And, really, we're talking about an internet forum here. This is not the end all be all in this life (I hope).
My general rule of thumb: if a person consistently is finding problems interacting with others on the boards (or in reality) they, themselves, should take a long look at how they're presenting themselves. It goes both ways.
And BTW, CA Chrome so
you don't misinterpret me here: I am not telling you to change your ways or take a look at yourself. I am speaking in generalizations.

Exactly! Couldn't help grinning when reading Stark's message.
I just do not understand why people feel the need on TBC to personalize things.
I try and talk about the issues and never get personal.
I may be wrong 100% of the time. Fine. But why the need to demonize posters and personally attack them? I do not get it. Are we in high school again? LOL
For the most part, I find the people on TBC to be welcoming, educated and cordial. But there are a few that just seem to want to engage in cyberbullying which to me makes little sense when trying to share perspectives on this wonderful sport which we all love. What is the point? To be the smartest person in the room? Who cares.
I just want to learn and share ideas.
Enough of my rant.
ME TOO MOT - I am always learning - I try to listen and learn - discuss and respect -
I will post more once I am home and back in the loop--for now, this is just my lifeline for info!
