Title: Paulick Report on Fatalities At Race Tracks
Post by: Man o Taz on January 06, 2015, 12:23:53 PM
It seems there have been a lot at Aqueduct...13 since the start of the meet but I may not be counting right since they say there have been only 10.

It does seem like there have been a lot at Big A, but they also race longer than the other NY tracks. That probably has some impact on the overall number, but that inner track has been problematic in the past.

I wish there was a national "off season" for racing... it would give the horses a break, plus if there were issues with a track it (not saying there is an issue at A necessarily) would give them a better chance to fix it, and at the same time it would increase the quality of racing in a less vs. more way.

I understand at Big A that they have more fatalities so far this meet than they had all of last year's meet...

Very, very sad.

My understanding is that the training track is superior to Belmont's.

I do not know what that means for racing.
