I may get torched here but here goes. Afleet Alex would have given Arrogate a run for his money in my opinion. He doesn't get the credit he deserves.

I also compare him to the Bid, although the Bid sustained it for a far greater sample size. Arrogate is just amazing. He's scary amazing. I'm watching Gun Runner hoping he's going to win, than all of a sudden I see Arrogate charging up from the outside. Here he comes.

I'm trying to figure out where he stands after winning the Travers ( track record ), BCC, Pegasus and DWC. Those are four huge races to win in a row. What's his future as a four year old.

It was like the passing of the torch from Chrome to Arrogate. Tough way for Chrome to go out. Saw his slight reluctance to go into the gate and was thinking I had never seen him like that before. As far as Arrogate. How good is he and what lies ahead for him.

:thanks: Chrome

Racing / What was your first exposure to horse racing.

I remember a horse that won the Derby , but was disqualified. Dancer's Image in 1968. Today what ever was in his system would be legal. I really got into racing in 1971 with Canenerro II, the horse from Argentina that won both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness. Little did I know in 1971 what was to come next. Riva Ridge, Secretariat, Seattle Slew and Affirmed.

Taz I could not agree with you more. HOTY to me is about the campaign, not a couple of races and that's it. Arrogate is one hell of a horse, but he only answered the bell twice throughout the entire year. As far as Songbird, he put a bunch of wins together in a row and only lost the Distaff by a head.

Arrogate didn't do enough with his two wins to be considered HOTY. It's got to be either Chrome or Songbird.

Not sure if running Chrome will prove anything. He needs a race ok, but what about the competition, if any. Low paying race. Will any one else show up. Not too exciting. Why not train Chrome up to the Pegasus.

I'm changing my vote to Lady Eli. What a heart warming story.

Chrome didn't lose the race, his jockey did.

Why is the rail dead so often. What makes it that way.
