Nice to see this former Socal kid find such great success out East!

He's certainly blossomed!

Well, so much for Dortmund not entering the San Felipe. It seems his owner said that he will participate.

Could he become the first horse since Pioneer of the Nile to win the Lewis, San Felipe and Santa Anita Derby?

We'll see.

Great news!

It's proven a very good route, as of late ... if I'm not mistaken, I'll Have Another and California Chrome both ran that sequence if races ... and it turned out pretty darn well for them!  ;)

Oh I do ... life has just been super hectic, so I don't post as often as I'd like to ... but I read consistently ...

I hope to become an avid poster once things settle down a bit ...

Very geeked about Crimson Giant running in The Big Cap this Saturday! I've been following him from his very 1st start ... probably have seen him run in person a good 30 to 40 times ... love this guy ... very excited!

Beyond Shared Belief and possibly the out of town shipper, the rest of the field is the common fare he usually faces. I like his chances to pick up a pay check here!

Ocho at #1 eh, Taz? Very cool.

I still have Pharoah at #1, if he makes it ... but if not, Ocho would likely be my #1 if he impresses once again in The San Felipe.

Sure would like to see Punctuate run another race at some point in his life. His debut was very impressive.

My eye is on Power Jam now too. His debut was quite impressive.

Anyone know when the next Kentucky Derby pool is?

Might want to add bets on Power Jam or Call Back.

I've placed 2 Kentucky Derby future bets ...

American Pharoah and Ocho Ocho Ocho.

Anyone else have any going? If not, who would you place a hypothetical future bet on if you could only bet 2?

Ocho Ocho Ocho has impressed the Hell out of me from the start.

I see him winning this.

I think he's a special racehorse.

Aha...but if all of them go then aren't they equally fried?  ;)

Great ... just what I want to see ... lesser horses smoking all of them in the states next year post-Dubai.  ;)

I'd, personally, rather just see them all in top form here next year. I'm not big in "all or nothing" plays ... but that's just me.

I think it's pretty well documented that I hate when any horse goes to Dubai ... pretty much fries 90% of them for the rest of the year.

Cali Chrome is also likely to run at Del Mar, on Turf, on November 29th per Art and DRF.(Grade 1, Hollywood Derby I think)

I'm totally cool with that, as I know they've been wanting to do that for a very long time. In fact, they've often said they think he'll be even better on Turf than he is in dirt ...

I guess we'll soon have a pretty good idea.  :)

Looks like you'll get your wish Taz ... the money guy wins again ...

Per DRF, he's going to run in The Dubai World Cup ...

Really unfortunate ... unless he's a rarity, he'll never be the same after that race ...

I was hoping to see him go toe to toe with Bayern and Shared Belief several times next year while in peak form ... sucks!

I suspect he'll end up at stud in either Japan or Dubai also, since the money guy always seems to win ...

Pretty damn disappointed. :(
#42
Then you'll do best if the "money guy" makes the call Taz ...

I'm rooting for the "heart guy", as I'd like to see him run well for ALL of next year and not be toast after a Dubai bid ... then I'd like to see him stud here ... these things will only happen if the "heart guy" wins out.
#43
If the owner who is all about money gets his wish, you will too Taz ...

I, personally, hope the "heart" guy wins out ... I want to see Chrome run in the U.S. at the top of his game next year ... as opposed to seeing him run in Dubai or Japan and then end up being a shell of his former self for the rest of his final year ... but that's just me (and one of the owners).  ;)

Taz ... Golden cents is retired and already relocated ... the only place he'll be running anymore is in a pasture.  ;)

Re: California Chrome

One Owner For Sure Does NOT want to run in Dubai or Japan ...

The other owner is all about the money ...

I'm hoping the owner ruled by his heart wins out.
