This was the only race that concerned me at all(as long as he stays healthy) for Cali Chrome ... solely because traffic issues were a concern because of the huge field. Once the race started though, Victor placed him perfectly ... So I knew he had it from about 3 furlongs in.

Preakness should be a breeze ... as will the Belmont ... CC doesn't have distance limitations(although some try to convince themselves he does) ... He's been geared down hard his last 5 races ... Distance will be no issue.

As long as he stays healthy, I believe the hard part is done and the Triple Crown will be his.

Only horse that I view as a threat at all is Social Inclusion ... If he dispatches him, he's home free.

On that note, today SI was loaded on a van headed to Pimlico.

Social Inclusion has recovered sufficiently from the bruise in his right front foot that had kept him out of a Gulfstream Park stakes last Saturday to board a Pimlico-bound van Wednesday morning.

"We're leaving tomorrow morning around 10 (EDT) and get there early Thursday morning," Rontos Racing Stable Corp.'s Ron Sanchez said. "He'll jog tomorrow before he leaves."

After making a belated career debut on February 22, Social Inclusion won his first two races by a combined 17 1/2 lengths at Gulfstream Park before finishing third in the TwinSpires.com Wood Memorial at Aqueduct on April 5. The Manny Azpurua-trained colt lacked the necessary point total to make the Kentucky Derby field.

From the first crop of Pioneerof the Nile, Social Inclusion will enter the middle leg of the Triple Crown off a 42-day freshening . . .

After seeing the video, my first thought was, poor Nehro. He must have been in excruciating pain, and still had to train and race. Hard to imagine.

IMO, if someone would have run toe to toe with him into the final turn, he would have spit the bit and been off the board.

But they didn't ... so hence the result ... and I'm happy!  The crowd was too! Huge applause for him coming through the stretch and again when Mike brought him by the stands for the crowd.Seems most people understood the import for both The Dude and history.

It was nice to see Baffert get emotional about Dude's win, too. He's so calm and cool, usually.

I was rooting for Game On Dude, though I couldn't say I was confident about his chances.  When MMM and WTC came after him I was watching it on the computer yelling, "Go, go buddy, you can do it!

Retired grade I-winning millionaire gelding The Usual Q. T. was euthanized the first week of February due to complications from an illness, trainer Jim Cassidy confirmed Feb. 27. The son of Unusual Heat—Lunge, by Western Fame, was 8.

According to Cassidy, The Usual Q. T. had suffered from a condition called peritonitis, which is an inflammation in the stomach lining.

"He got colic about a year ago and we got him through that and he was fine," Cassidy said. "Then, about three or four months ago, he got peritonitis. They worked on him for days at the hospital, then we brought him to the racetrack and worked on him there. He seemed to be fine for a couple weeks, but then he got really bad."

Cassidy said The Usual Q. T. underwent several treatments at West Coast Equine Hospital in Somis, Calif., but eventually the decision was made to euthanize him when his condition worsened ...

Well, apparently they tried ... unsuccessfully. Someone posted on TBC that O'Neill Racing wrote on its Facebook page BH had been put on a plane to go back to SoCal ... and then this post showed up later on the same page.

A frustrated Woodmans Luck tries to take a bite out of Romeo Royale during the sixth race on Saturday at Del Mar. Romeo Royale went on the win the race and came out of it unscathed.

Good for him that he figured out it's better to keep his head straight near the wire.
