Nice hit Raven  :chickendance: 12-1 is a square price
Did you know that all over the world whatever distance dirt, turf or
synthetic 90% of the races won are by horses 10-1 and under  :OMG:

9th race @ Belmont Saturday

Small Bear (116) (20-1) – upon first look doesn't merit much attention—an 8 and
some 10s at two/three all on dirt, then three months later 3s and a 4 also on dirt
with two worse turf efforts. He's a dirt horse---what's he doing here? Moreover,
even with the 6 on turf last out, a figure which equates with four of the others in
here (SaW, L, H, T), horses that run on multiple surfaces usually show a
preference after a while and rarely are equally competent and/or effective on the
two or more surfaces. But in Small Bear's case there may be reason to think
otherwise. First off, sire Macho Uno gets runners that run on average just as fast on
dirt and turf--the TGI figure is the same for dirt and turf. Second, dam-sire El
Prado, a son of Sadler's Wells, a grandson of Northern Dancer, is a noted turf
influence. Third, full sister Fiaker shows fast tops on turf at routes on turf at three
and four, as does half-sister Stella Rose. Fourth, Small Bear's turf top, came after
two fast paired dirt efforts, earning figures, surface notwithstanding, as fast as any
in here except for the one Frostmourne top. In context the turf top is actually
surprisingly good as are three of the other four races in this skein—he's 5 points
better than he was in the winter and if he can run to that here especially given the
low weight and relatively inside post then he's a legitimate long shot. If... but the
price is there to take a shot.
