Fun race to handicap, every angle imaginable.  If you like front runners or closers, they're here, if you like 3X off the layoff or heck, there's even a horse back from the rigors of the Triple Crown ;D

I really need to figure out who will win this race, the favorite should be about 5/1 when the gates open, suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance.

1.  8/1  Dirt to turf, won 3 stakes races in a row all against CalBreds, gets leading rider.
2.  8/1  Lightly raced, inside speed, Smith to throttle the controls, trainer doesn't win Graded stakes.
3. 30/1 More inside speed, will be looking for a jock, Maldonado hurt in morning workouts today
4.  6/1  Bejarano back aboard, could be in the perfect spot turning for home.
5. 20/1 Cold King Jerry's hoss just barely lost to elders going longer, no wins 2016
6. 15/1 Sadler/Baze speed improved last out, first on turf.
7. 20/1 Garcia replaces Prat off brief freshening.
8.  5/1  Stevens hopes this turns into a jockeys race, he'll save the necessary punch for the lane.
9. 12/1 Better as a 2YO but KentD rides returns for small barn, beware.
10 12/1 Finally broke his maiden in start 9 after trying the triple crown, maybe turf is the answer.
11  6/1  Just wired 'em at 29/1, no reason to like him at 6/1 with other speed in the race.
12  9/2  Somebody had to be favored, one of the best closers in the race
13  8/1  O'Neill gets him back from NY, Reddam/Gutierrez will be closing in the lane.
14 30/1  First time gelding looking for a career best effort.
15 20/1 AE Trainer Drysdale very capable of winning at the strangest times these days.
16 30/1 AE Cheap improving sort hoping to draw in 3X off the freshening.

My unscientific pick is Free Rose, because I know the owner. ;)

Sometimes that can be a great betting angle especially if they're all dressed up in the saddling area just waiting to have their picture taken in a few minutes!

Good luck, safe trip!

Well we know the pace will be there - too bad about Maldonado he was the gunner for Mr Roary = I think Mike Smith fits Blackjackcat - but Dressed in Hermes may finally be ready to run and I like Kent up
May they run with the wind

My mythical $100 bankroll just trying to turn a profit of some sort on a pair that might be of some value....

Of course I've got Baffert who doesn't win on the turf and Janet Armstrong who doesn't win much at all.

4 Moonlight Drive [ITY]   Win   $60.00
9 Dressed in Hermes   Win   $15.00
9 Dressed in Hermes   Place   $25.00

I'm big on the 1. I don't ever remember a Gottstein Futurity winner losing the Del Mar Derby.  You heard it right here.

Congrats, they all looked very happy!

Me, well, now I need to pick the winner of Monday's 7th race to win the trip to Vegas for the DRF/NTRA tourney in January.
no problem!

Congratulations to Bing Bush and all the members of Abbondanza Racing. I really wanted to be there! If he runs in the Hollywood Derby, save me a seat! :)
