VERY bad news. Pointsoffthebench, a major contender for the BC Sprint, died on the track st SA this morning. This is breaking news, do not know the details just yet. Heartbreaking.

If ever there was a feel good story at the BC, it's Private Zone's.   To see Rene Douglas and Martin Pedroza win a BC race would be fabulous.

I wish they'd just left Grandeur here, much like Stacelita was, instead of flying him back and forth. Oh well.

OH NO! Oxbow! He was my Triple Crown favorite as far as impressive overall performance and I had so hoped to see him back.

How serious was that ankle injury anyhow?

A beautiful picture of two handsome men, one four legged and one ... oh never mind.  :X

As for Declaration of War ... where did I hear he was Breeders' Cup bound? Maybe I dreamed it. Oh well.

I didn't even know about this until I got a phone call from a fellow member here. What a shame they kept such an obviously unsound horse in training for so long, especially since despite his lack of graded stakes wins he still could have gotten a few mares in foal with his royal breeding (do we want more unsound genes, though?). Regardless, what a loss. I had a bad feeling about this horse with all his stops and starts from the beginning.

Woo hoo! Tim Yakteen trainee Afflication, a 4 year old gelding, just won the 6th @ SA by 13+ lengths. A return to the dirt did him some good. Looks like 12,500 was a good confidence builder. Should move up next time, with any luck.

(gelding him didn't hurt either, er, no pun intended)

MEOW MIX & CATNIP TO U!    =^,,^=

LOL and you're welcome!   BTW the "sticky" option is at the bottom when you post.  I believe on the old forum it was on the top.

And one of our favorites, You're a Nation, slowed to a mere trickle again a few weeks ago at GG. Poor thing, she really can't run a lick.  Whoever named her that should never, ever be allowed to ever name another horse, period.

Racing / Breeders' Cup Longshots?
October 25, 2013, 02:46:00 PM
Joe Talamo's been working Moreno, who will be in the BC Dirt Mile.  I don't think he'll be THAT big of a longshot (Golden Cents, if entered here, will probably be one of the favorites), but if he can relax, I could see him upsetting.  Too bad the horse has such a er .... bleepity-bleep for a trainer.

What a shame. I really enjoyed him. A hard-knocking, hard-trying horse.  Hasta la vista to Paynter's brother-in-blood.

...my only other general thought right now is that Beholder may be able to steal the Distaff, depending on which Royal Delta shows up. Sylmar is a veritable monster, but she needs to break well and be more forwardly placed in this shortest of fields.

I'm curious to see what the pace scenario will be in the Distaff, because both Royal Delta and Beholder could be on the lead. Whether Beholder can *relax* on the lead with RD on her flank is another question.

This is actually better, putting topics like this into a separate category. They get lost in "Racing."

Regarding Zenyatta, I want to see more photos of both offspring, especially Z13.

I always wanted to make this thread over on TBC and somehow never did. This is a good opportunity to do it here!

Wednesday @ Laurel, a Tiznow filly who seems to be on the upswing won another race on the turf. Her name, unfortunately, should be in the "Worst Names" thread.  Her name is Thegalthatwasaboy.

Tiz The Truth worked 3f MT ft in :36.80 H (2/9) at SA, 10/24/13.  He's entered in an allowance later in the week.
