Whew - I knew Corinthian had to be moving, but hadn't been able to find out where. He's going to Pin Oak Lane in Pennsylvania joining Albert the Great, Any Given Saturday, Offlee Wild, and others... I've always really liked this guy and hope he'll do well there...

Its not surprising he was moved.  His numbers are awful, which is a shame, because I really like him.  He could only get 11 mares this year in KY.

Abaco (Giant's Causeway - Cat Cay) won the G3 Cardinal H. on Saturday (11/9).  It was her first Stakes win, after finishing second 3 times.  I also believe that I read at one point, she is the last direct female line descendant of Relaxing in the Phipps racing or broodmare band.

I also have to disagree with you and say that Souper Sticky is the worst of the Souper names.

Edit to add:  I know someone posted, that Live Oak had named a horse Souper Sticky and its in the Online Names Book for a 2011 horse.  But when I try to search Equineline, its coming up with nothing.  I wonder if she changed the name?

When was the last time the Phipps or Janneys had a high profile, 3yo dirt colt?
Phipps: Easy Goer?  Rhythm?  Miner's Mark?  Seeking The Gold?  They all raced at 4, they were also 20 years ago+ and all had shortened 4yo seasons for some reason.  MG1SW Awe Inspiring, from the same crop as Easy Goer, was retired at 3.  At that time though, most top 3yos were coming back at 4.
Janney: Coronado's Quest - retired at 3.

Just because they said he retired sound, doesn't mean he didn't pull or sprain something.  Something had to of come up for him to be retired that fast, when they were working him for the Cigar Mile.  I still figured him to be retired before the end of the year.

Sorry I have not been posting as much but I am working on the racing silks database on the other side of TBR fans. I'm on the letter J now. This, of course, is not a complete list through J - somehow I doubt this project will EVER be complete!  :lmao:
If you need help researching colors or trying to find someone's silks, let me know.  I like trying to find stuff on the internet.  ;)

I know there are more than enough Kittens, Slews and Tizzes, but what's the deal with spelling "Super" as "Souper?"

Souper Spectacular was the worst.
The owner is the heiress to the Campbell Soup fortune.

A few days ago I was half asleep when reading something horse racing related.  I thought I read a horse's name was something horrid and looked and I had misread.  So I had to check Equineline and unfortunately, there really was a horse named Motion Lotion though.

Does anyone know who she has in the band besides the ladies purchased this week and the big two from last year (Plum and Grace)?
I would love to know.

She is going to have a stellar band.
I'm not done looking but I have to quit for tonight.  These are some of her mares, of course some could have changed hands:
Indian Vale
L.A. Devine
Miles of Style dam is Tomisue's Delight
Storminthegarden 1/2 to Paradise Creek
Katz Me If You Can
Only First Class
Shop Glack
Weekend Fantasy
Woodland Shadow
Roman Mistress

Man O Taz, you made my day. Very funny thread.

Since the Pope adopted the name of St Francis, he'd probably be open to having a horse rescue or a farm for pensioned stallions and retired geldings.

We could put Holy Bull on the list, and when he's pensioned Pulpit too.
Pulpit died last year.

I've been waiting for this announcement.  I had no hope of him returning to the track next year.

Who was the last 3-time HOTY? Was it Curlin?  I can't imagine there ever having been a turfer getting it twice.
Forego (3x) and Kelso (5x) are the only horses to win HOTY more than twice.

Interestingly, if Wise Dan wins again this year, no intact male horse has won HOTY since Curlin in 2008.
