Race 9 @ Santa Anita, the last of the 6.5 downhill turf races before they rip up the sod to replace it for BC.

Recent Hollendorfer claim #7 PrayHard is listed at 6/1 on the morning line which is acceptable for his first ever try on the tricky course.  The problem is I have sneakin' hunch he might open up at about 9/5 on the first click on the board in which case he's a pass for me and will wait for another day rather than guessing he can transfer dirt form to the grass at a short price.

Hopefully no speed bias developing... lots of frontrunning winners on the dirt yesterday, though the field dynamics were likely a bit different than most of the later stakes today.

My likely bets pre-scratches:

BEL6: #4 Summation Time- WPS
BEL7: #7 Counterforce/ #13 Star Hill exacta
BEL8: #8 Celestine- WPS
BEL9: #11 Calculator- WPS
BEL11: 1,5,11,13 exacta box, #1 Governor Malibu- WPS, #13 Creator- show

might throw down a little P3 action on races 8,9,10 as well.
good luck all!

If it's raining (likely)
If I need a bailout horse for the day (even more likely)

Friday GP R4
It took a while to land on one but I think I have
it figured out. The 2 & 4 break like bullets rush to the front the 5 & 11 are a
little slower out of the gate and rush up behind. Torrid fractions through
the first 1/4 and 1/2. Then, when the time is right the #12 Starship Menace
bounds up the fence for the win.
The end  :racinghorse:
