        8 AWAY IN GOOD ORDER
AS BLUNNY STALLED EXITING THE GATE

RUFFIAN & DUSTY OFF WITH A SHORT LEAD, QUICKLY JOINED
              BY CATALINA + TIGER DANCER
BUT ~  THESE 4 FRISKY FILLYS DON'T HOLD THE LEAD VERY LONG

     ~~HEADING INTO THE TURN~~

IT'S SUDDENLY DEFENDING CHAMP, EL PRADO & CRUZAN
WITH AN EXPLOSIVE SURGE OF SPEED
ZOOMING ON BY TO TAKE THE LEAD ~ JOINING CATALINA
AFTER RUFFIAN ~ DUSTY & TIGER DANCER
FAILED TO SUSTAIN THEIR EARLY MOMENTUM ~

THIS TENACIOUS TRIO LEAD THE WAY BY 10 LENGTHS

~~OUT OF THE TURN THEY COME~~

IT'S NOW CATALINA OUT ALONE,  WITH AN IMPRESSIVE LEAD

EL PRADO & CRUZAN RUNNING WITH GOOD ENERGY ARE
8 LENGTHS BACK ~ FOLLOWED BY TIGER DANCER

IT'S A LONG WAY BACK TO THE REST WHO ARE SHOWING
LITTLE SIGNS OF SPEED OR INTEREST IN RUNNING ~ YET

~~THEY'RE AT THE TOP OF THE STRETCH~~

IT'S A CONFIDENT CATALINA LEADING THE WAY

EL PRADO & CRUZAN, NECK & NECK ARE NEXT, 10 LENGTHS BACK

TIGER DANCER STRUGGLING TO KEEP UP IS ANOTHER 5 LENGTHS
BEHIND THE FRONT RUNNING TRIO ~

CIGARSHOP SUDDENLY AWAKENED, TO JOIN DUSTY
BUT THIS DAWDLING DUO IS STILL FAR BACK

BLUNNY ~ RUFFIAN & THUNDER CAT ARE IN ANOTHER
TIME ZONE DOING THE TURTLE-TEMP0-TRIO-TANGO!

~~AND DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME~~

A CALCULATING CAREFREE CATALINA CLEARLY SHOWING
HER FEARLESS FESTIVE FILLY NATURE WITH NO CHALLENGER
EVEN CLOSE ENOUGH TO CAUSE CONCERN

IT'S AN ENERGIZED EL PRADO, TRYING HER BEST TO CLOSE
THE HUGE GAP IN AN EFFORT TO REPEAT ~ BUT THE CHANCE
OF THAT IS QUICKLY FADING AS CATALINA HAS SUDDENLY
ROARED WITH YET ANOTHER SUPER SIZZLING SURGE OF SPEED

THE FLAMBOYANTLY FIERCE FILLY IS MAKING A MOCKERY
OUT OF THE RACE NOW, PUTTING ON A DEMONSTRATION
OF POWER AND AWESOME AUTHORITY AS SHE HEADS TO
THE WIRE ~ WALLOWING IN FLAWLESS FILLY BOTS GLORY!

CRUZAN IS STAYING RIGHT WITH EL PRADO AS THESE 2
        BATTLE FOR THE BRIDESMAID TROPHY

TIGER DANCER, DANCING TO THE BEAT OF HER OWN DRUM
IS NOT CLOSE ENOUGH FOR THE FLOWERS

And you didn't even mention hurricanes!

Which is ok. Tampa hasn't had a direct hit since 1929. And that one crossed the state before it got here.

Tampa Bay shoves them away from the mouth of the bay. St Pete can be hit bad, but the storm doesn't do as much damage in Tampa as you would think. St Pete is at the mouth of the bay. Tampa Bay has three rivers shoving them away. The center does not come over Tampa. I've managed to make believers of several weathermen.

Anyone living in the upper plains, you had better go find your long John's! Old Man Winter is already here!👻
Temps in the 60's at Keeneland today.

No kidding.  San Antonio, TX was in the upper forties/low fifties on Monday. And not a great deal warmer since.
