FIRST timers ...

Rprettyboyfloyd and Prospector Alley ...

Both looked very slight of build, discombobulated and very green in the paddock. I discounted BOTH of them because of this.

Rprettyboyfloyd running this weekend in the San Felipe. Looks like he'll
Love the two turns. Be at a price to
Then the race begins ... They BOTH got very poor breaks ... may have actually gotten stuck in the gate ...

Lagged very far behind for the first half of the race ... then heading into the final turn made really nice moves that required a lot of focus and excellent maneuvering and closed exceedingly well ...

Rprettyboyfloyd ... Officially trailed by 11 lengths ... But you know how that works ... It was probably more like 15, just not at a recorded split. He got up for 2nd ... Officially losing by 3 1/4 ... He was 21-1.

Prospector Alley ... Officially trailed by 10 1/4 lengths ... Once again probably more like 15, just not at a split. He ended up 4th ... Officially losing by only 2 1/4 ... He was 17-1.

Being that they were 1st timers, seemingly disoriented in the paddock and blowing the starts ... These guys, IMHO, with the performances they put up once they gathered themselves are MUST plays at any kind of odds next time out!

I will be all over them!

If interested, I would suggest watching their replays from today on CalRacing.com.

Well, we're starting to get a lot closer.
The one from last year I was counting on was Havana. But I doubt he'll make the
starting gate. There are a couple others that I really like

1) Candy Boy : This horse looks like he wants to run all day
2) Wildcat Red: I know his pedigree says sprinter, but if he keeps
winning why not keep betting him?
3) The top (3) from the Gotham. This bunch is fun to watch :puppykisses:
4) General A Rod: If I like Wildcat Red I gotta like this guy
5) Gala Award, that was a nice win on the turf, great pedigree too.
Should dirt easy

to the #2 then in the post parade I thought the 3 looked really good so I went to switch back
but I got shut out. So now I'm with the 2 again

Sounds like what they had at Woodbine. They take part of the slot money and put it in
the purses. They also pay for the space they lease. In Woodbine's case they have ended giving
revenue from the slots and just pay them for leasing the space. I don't think it worked in
Woodbine's case i.e., taking the money and making horse racing a long term viable product
on its own. Why buy claiming horses when the purses were $40,000 (3) years ago and now
there $18,000? They all got out when the "getting was good!" As for why marketing managers
think they have a opportunity to lure "slot" players into horse racing is utter insanity. Its almost
as bad as when Andy Stronach spent 40 million inventing slot machines that bet on the races
WPS. They're two totally different type of gamblers and people.
But I hope your track does well as some of the smaller ones have. :celebrate:

His running style is a hindrance on this track but I think
He has the class to get the job done against this bunch
Lots of pace to run at
Good luck
