I am pretty new here but I think Ruffian tries to accommodate everyone.  This is the best site for contests.  I say let bygones be bygones.  Its not good for things to fester and ruin friendship that I see here. I have been on other sites where things got out of hand and it ruined it.  The best was e-ponies who had a gent who ran it perfectly but he could not satisfy everyone and all it took was 1 maybe 2 and that was all it took.  Down went the contests.  I think we have great people here and  its a close knit people.  I for one really enjoy everyone here.  So lets solidify the cast of runners and stay strong.

like Peepers said I believe Ruff will listen & you're right about this forum, many very good people lots of good times
I'm sorry some discord happened the past few days but now we can all move on just in time for Christmas & in the year 2020 things can only get better

The words are all there in my previous post... maybe re-read them? I don't know what else to say so I'll relieve all of you of my company at this time....

Peepers please do not leave this forum, I'm pretty sure we can all come to a resolution that will make everyone happy

I feel as do you that on a Wednesday that the winners choice should be their choice without any arm twisting, correct?

I will go on public record if Peepers leaves so will I until things change, I thought we all were moving on

I've read the above reply several times & I do not agree with parts of it, I'll reserve my real thoughts
I stated this forum is a very fun place & the efforts of those who run it are appreciated
that's all....

below you will read a email interaction between Ruffian & I
I didn't reply to her until today due to the Thanksgiving holidays
nothing has been edited
I do feel that for years many have been persuaded to change our choice of tracks. I know what the rules say, but the rules were made by Ruff with no input from us the "community"
a new year is approaching & I feel if us the participants have more say that we can grow this forum
I truly do appreciate the efforts of Ruff but it's time for some changes IMO

I understand totally how you feel on this
In my defense if you look at the rules
It does say the final decision is RUFFIANS

Wednesdays are a lot more flexible for track choice
Saturdays are dedicated to the *best stakes* races track
Which may not be somebody's personal favorite place 😔

That is when sometimes I have to make a change
But it doesn't happen very often

99% of the time I do make every effort
to go with the  track choice of the winner
even if I personally might prefer another

I have dedicated Myself many years ago
To try making this forum the most unique
and most fun of all online contests

And most of all I want my players to have fun
                   And enjoy participating

Thanks 🙏 for your understanding and patience with me  💗

and here is my reply to the above email:

Mzzzz Ruff:

If this is truly a forum for everyone, I vehemently disagree that you have the final decision. Multiple times over the years you have persuaded me & others to change our choice of tracks
This is 1,000,000% wrong
I don't like this quote of yours either "I want my players" we aren't your players we are a group of individuals that have decided to hang around & play in this forum.
A dictatorship isn't the norm, I feel if you really let us the participants decide the tracks there would be more growth in the forum.
Yes on the big days it's very simple to pick the track, but other days let the winner do their thing
You will for sure notice the change of scenery refreshing
I will be copying/pasting your message as well as mine for total transparency purposes I don't like the "behind the scenes" tactics

Respectfully yours,
Cigarshop

everyone in this forum knows I speak my mind freely, I opened my email this morning & our leader had sent me an email saying an 80% chance of rain today....
she has done this because she wasn't pleased with my choice of track when I told her Finger Lakes last week she tried to persuade me to choose another and I didn't back down....
this happens quite often & not just to me, the tactics are to do it as a "strong armed" way of getting her choice not the winners
I really do enjoy this forum & have been a part of it for many many years now, if you say it's the winners choice then let the winner REALLY have their say with zero input from you
Yes you put countless hours into this as does Le Tigre & it's appreciated but I don't like you to say on here have it your way but in a clandestine manner give many alternates behind the scenes
if you did it publicly for all to see then I'd have zero problems with your method but you don't
I apologize for this rant but I've reached my breaking point regarding the winners choice

Congrats to the winner

Very timely & good race call

thanks for the clarification Peepers I'm just happy you got to get your choice of track, it's a difficult task at times
I really hope you get your three peat

Hey Cigar, I picked AQ this week because I liked the turf fields, particularly the Red Smith. I wanted CD last weekend for a similar reason, but I prefer the AQ card this week...

I think in all fairness to Peepers that this week should be a "no contest" which means it's running for purse only.... thus giving Peepers next Saturday at the track she really wanted which is Churchill Downs to go for her much valued three peat

Del Mar race 1 has only 6 runners & race 2 only 4 runners race 3 only 6 race 8 the "feature" only 5
just awful
