On December 1st 2006, I was a teenager, I came home from my high school classes, and I turned on my television to watch the fourth race from Bay Meadows. The distance of the race is five furlongs on the turf. Russell Baze's mount was Butterfly Belle, the horse was charging thorough down at the rail, and Butterfly Belle passed by horses one by one in the final quarter of a mile before the wire. At the end, Russell Baze broke Laffit Pincay Jr's record as the world's all time winningest jockey with 9,531 wins in his career. However, the battle between Russell Baze and jockey Jorge Ricardo from South America as the world's all time winningest jockey isn't over.
