Hey Surf N Turf -

I was okay with this until you compared D'Tara to those males (like me) who are lucky if one woman out of ten will go out with them.

So what would you have US do? Stop asking women out, and instead become stable ponies or riding horses???

Just asking.

(By the way, I agree that Nick Zito is, at times, totally inexplicable).

I agree.

The Moss's are focused on the Breeders Cup, and it makes no sense for them to ship Zenyatta from Cali just weeks before the BC to run her on dirt, only to turn around and ship her right back.

If Jess Jackson foolishly dislikes "plastic", that's his problem.

There is one Championship, and it's called the Breeders' Cup. Apparently, Zenyatta will be there, Rachel will not. So be it.

I agree.

Last year's Breeders' Cup (the whole two days worth) was definitely NOT irrelevant. There were great races, horses ran largely to form, and, sorry Jess, Curlin simply lost to better horses that day.

And...importantly...there were no breakdowns.

So, I'm looking forward to the 2009 BC - synth or not.

Star...

I really apologize! Your comment has been sitting there ignored since last Tuesday (it's now Sunday). To be completely honest, I'm a little new at this blogging thing, and didn't know comments had to be "approved" to appear, or that I had to "approve" it. Anyway, I just found it. Again, sorry.

Of course, Zenyatta was scratched, so it's kind of a moot point now. But I'll answer your question anyway.

Yes, there is a good way to watch races that aren't on TV, and in fact I wrote a blog post on just that a couple of months ago. The answer is to sign up for one of the online betting sites that have streaming video (i.e. the simulcasts) from all the tracks. You don't have to actually bet, and in fact I don't. (Of course, you can if you want to.)

My personal favorite is XPressBet, which unlike some of the others, is totally free. And it has good, reliable, video from all the races at all the tracks. (I watched the Dubai World Cup live on it, and on Derby Friday and Saturday the stream never wavered, even though a ton of people must have been watching.)

Here's the link to my blog post on how to do it, and in that post is the link to XPressBet.

And again, I'm sorry it took me so long to answer. I had no idea your comment was sitting there and that I had to "approve" it.

I am rather new to following racing (other than ALWAYS watching the Triple Crown since a we girl) but am one of those completely drawn in by Zenyatta. I have only been able to watch replays of her races on the computer. I was so excited to hear of her race Friday, and so disapointed to learn there would be no TV coverage. I don't/can't subscribe to the horse racing networks is there anywhere online I can watch this race live? Or find it right after it happens? Sure wish I could make the 5 hour trip to Louisville or at least to the local racetrack to watch on simulcast but my newborn daughter thinks otherwise! Hoping to hear good news from you....

Hi Krystyna...

In all our good-natured rivalry over Perfect Song vs. The Big Chicago Guy (Giant Oak), we need to be careful we don't overlook the deserving morning line favorite...Musket Man.

That said, I expect to be there tomorrow, and will be happy to provide all TBRF fans, in the best tradition of "Faux News", a "fair and balanced" report on what actually happens.

Your faithful correspondent,

In response to Roving Girl's shockingly defamatory comments about Anna K, I am forced to respond as follows.

At the age of 17, before injuries crippled her progress, Anna K was the 7th ranked female tennis player IN THE WORLD.

So, in my book, only people who are ranked higher than No. 7 in the world in their vocation are allowed to criticize Anna K's purported lack of tennis-playing talent!

OK Dave in TJMex and Roving Girl...

Back by popular demand, and at your request...

To satisfy Dave's insatiable appetite for pictures of Anna K, and to appease Roving Girl's desire for an aesthetically pleasing type-block layout, and to further feed my love for Zenyatta...

See the post now. We hit the trifecta!

Vic, the post looked better with the photos in it, they broke up that HUGE and I do mean HUGE block of text.

You don't have to put the photo back up of that so-called tennis player, any dumb cute Russian blonde who can barely play tennis will do.
